About Last One to Ludington Buys the Ice Cream at House of Flavors
This piece was commissioned for a waitress at House of Flavors Restaurant in Ludington who was leaving town and whose boss wanted to present her with a unique gift as a going away present. He ended up buying the original and ordered a canvas-wrap print for his soon-to-be-ex employee. It went over really well.
The original painting is 16×20″ pastel on gatorboard with a pumice ground. The original has been sold.

Just for Fun series
The Just for Fun series is a collection of my skelly paintings that are based on suggestions or commissions or just because I can’t turn my brain off when it comes to skeletons! I welcome suggestions and skelly commissions, so you if have an idea for a skeleton painting, please contact me.
I love skellies because they’re fearless and free. When painting them I find that they take on a life of their own! If they make you laugh, then I feel my job is done. Life is short! Skellies are forever!
Pastels are my medium of choice because they’re so versatile and immediate. I love the way the light refracts when it hits the chalk. I love all the different marks you can make with them. This piece was done on Canson mi-teintes paper. I used various pastels to create this painting.
