About I Just Fed You
Part of my Greetings from St. Augustine series, I Just Fed You is a pastel painting of a skeleton pirate scolding his pet parrot about wanting a cracker too soon after breakfast. I love skeletons and St. Augustine, Florida, so I did a series of paintings featuring tourists and famous St. Augustine landmarks featuring skeletons, of course!
The original “I Just Fed You” has been sold.

Greetings from St. Augustine series
The Greetings from St. Augustine series is a set of paintings that I did featuring skeletons as tourists capering on and around St. Augustine, Florida’s famous landmarks, like the Castillo de San Marcos, the Bridge of Lions and the Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse, to name a few. I love imagining all the people that ever lived in the oldest city in America still wandering around and enjoying the sights and sounds of this awesome tourist destination.
I love skellies because they’re fearless and free. When painting them I find that they take on a life of their own! If they make you laugh, then I feel my job is done. Life is short! Skellies are forever!
Pastels are my medium of choice because they’re so versatile and immediate. I love the way the light refracts when it hits the chalk. I love all the different marks you can make with them. This piece was done on Canson mi-teintes paper, using various brands of pastels.
