Crack the Horizon

This is a small painting, 5×7″, of a convergence of light and shadow on the horizon in the Manistee National Forest.

While walking my dogs, I came around the curve in the road and saw this wonderful convergence of color and light up ahead. I love how the sky seems to angle down as though applying leverage to crack open the horizon.

This painting ships unframed, with a double mat, either white or black, between two pieces of foam core. It’s the perfect size for a small space, perhaps in a cabin out in the woods or a cottage by a lake or an apartment for splash of color and a taste of the outdoors.
