Road Leads Left

Yesterday, when I posted my work in progress to Facebook, someone commented that they liked my minimalist style. This was kind of funny, because I don’t think of myself as a minimalist painter. But I’d like to be.

I thought about it for a while and today’s landscape is the result. I tried hard not to put anything in that didn’t need to be there. So no tree trunks in the background, no saw palmetto leaves in the foreground. Just blocks of color. Mostly. I am looking forward to doing more minimizing as this series unfolds.
